A Russian viewpoint.

Meanwhile the Russians are not going to back down. (Click here or on title for source.)

""Despite the apparent strength, the NATO naval group in the Black Sea is not battle-worthy,"
Admiral Eduard Baltin said.

"If necessary, a single missile salvo from the Moskva missile cruiser and two or three missile boats would be enough to annihilate the entire group."

"Within 20 minutes the waters would be clear," he said, stressing that despite major reductions, the Black Sea Fleet still has a formidable missile arsenal.

However, Baltin said the chances of a military confrontation between NATO and Russia in the Black Sea are negligible.

"We will not strike first, and they do not look like people with suicidal tendencies," he said.

***********************************************************************************

One thing is certain though, in the long run, the Russians have got their own oil to supply their war machine, whereas NATO does not.
Much the same as it was at the outbreak of WW1, and WW2.

Here`s a few words from New Zealand..... From Lenora Foerstel,... Just a short page or so, but a big picture.

Same old shit, only this time the Anglo-saxon "allies" might end up as loosers.
Peace.

Russia is not going to back down and war as a foregone conclusion! The only question is when? MSM is keeping most people here busy and they don't have a clue.
I found it interesting that Russia appealed to China who sided with Bush. What a surprise, they just got a $3 Billion 20 year oil contract from Iraq! Give the dog a bone to shut him up!

hi Landsker, Bingo Maria!

Hi Jim,
The Russians have many pieces on the board, including a strategically located rook in Latin America.
Chavez is punching hard, not only sparring with the Russians, but also with the Chinese!
China may have talk of a future oil deal in Iraq, but they have been "ducking and diving" with Chavez for several years, a fact that the MSM often mention..
The Chinese are no fools, they will see this game through, and stand with the "winners".
Meanwhile here, some good news.... here in Britain....imported and corporate foods are rising in price, but local producers are now undercutting the corporate supply chain.

I know, Russia and China are arming Chavez and have many oil contracts and are building ports around South America and Russia is looking at refueling their nuclear bombers in Cuba.
Friggen Bush while he is off instigating the world to war they are at our back doors and I have written on it many times. This will not be stopped! Take care and good luck Bud!

Jim, that last bit about the Chinese activities in Venezuela should be read. " NOT often mentioned by the MSM."

Ola Maria,

Speaking of wind, one hopes that you and yours will be untroubled by the approaching hurricane.
It seems as though now even the forces of nature have a secondary agenda.
Typically, in response to the approaching storms, the US government has sent armed guards and prayers.
The hurricane might yet prove to be the wind of change that energizes the working class of the United States.
Paz.

It is never mentioned! They are building deep water Ports around South America and Canada may run a pipeline to the coast so they can sell their oil sand to China. That could be a threat to twist our arm I don't know!
Russia has been selling subs and numerous arms and advanced weaponry to Chavez as well as having military advisers on the ground! Again it gets worse! We are being squeezed too and I write about it often but no one seems to care!
